Life Defining Moments

I had one of those moments today, my fellow nurses will know what I mean. The moment where you know you’ve made a difference. One of those life defining, reaffirming moments.

I know that right now, this is where I’m meant to be, and this is what I’m meant to be doing. NMO can’t take this away from me and I’ll be doing this for as long as my body allows me to. I will not give in.

On another note, how awesome are RFDS?! I am literally in the middle of no where. When shit hit the fan, a plane was here in 2 hours and my patient was safely in hospital a few hours later. If I am overwhelmed with the feeling of making a difference, how do those doctors, nurses, pilots feel everyday?! I am in awe.

Hey great Jess – I haven’t been listening to the news but presume you had an incident. I am sure you coped in your admirable way. Congrats…I know about those defining moments (ambo) where you know that actually, what you did saved a life 🙂

  2. I’m an Audiologist with MS, and I know exactly what you mean. I will never stop doing what I’m doing as long as I am capable, regardless of what life (or my own nervous system) throws my way – mostly because the people I see NEED me to see them, just as I NEED to help them. Cheers!
